Deposition video
DCM - Digital Case Management knows that your streaming
deposition video will be used in the exact same way as on-location deposition video: for courtroom playback, settlement hearings and review by your experts. Whether you prefer the standard, full-screen framing of an on-location deposition video, or wish to include the exhibits presented to the witness; the recording should capture the witness and their answers, how they react to being challenged and how credible they do (or do not) appear.  You don't need anything extraneous in the shot.

Many depositions recorded via Zoom or other video conferencing services fall short, even when they're managed by someone at the office of a large court reporting firm.  Most agency office staff are not experienced deposition videographers.  Some make no effort to manage the appearance or audio of the witness.

You also shouldn't have to accept whatever results emerge from the webconference's video recording algorithm. They design their service for group and family meetings, not depositions, and prioritize bandwidth over quality video.

DCM - Digital Case Management records multiple independant video files simultaneously to achieve the ideal recording layout, best video resolution and for backup safety.  You won't see:
  • Multiple screens showing bored participants not being deposed
  • Flitting between the witness and whoever is talking the loudest
  • Squeezing the witness into a tiny frame (or moved off-screen) while a document is being displayed
Most importantly, our videographers are California Notaries Public for physician and expert witness video testimony, as required by the California Code of Civil Procedure.  If this requirement isn't met, your deposition video can be excluded at trial. Don't be tripped up by this!

Of course we can synchronize online deposition video, so you won't lack any of the resources you're used to having at trial.

Our videographer will work with the attorneys, technicians and equipment operators to make a complete and accurate record of whatever needs demonstrating; equipment, machine or natural feature. DCM’s scientific and mechanical savvy means we can plan with you the best way to record and edit your demonstration.

“Day-In-The-Life”: If your client has been injured or disabled, you case may benefit from a “Day-in-the-Life” video. Show a jury your client’s day-to-day experiences. We can focus on the simple activities like getting out of bed, fixing a meal and going to work or school, scheduled treatments like physical therapy or exams, or more personal touches like interviews and family gatherings.

"Ken did a great job by arriving and setting up early and then promptly cleaning up and leaving shortly after the deposition adjourned. Ken was able to supply the DVD of the deposition in short order. "
